About
Kompass Kanine was founded in Vilseck, Germany, out of a desire to help keep good dogs in good homes. Living within the military community, I saw many families struggling with the challenges that come with frequent moves, changing schedules, and the stress of everyday life. What started as offering free training and support to military families quickly grew.
The goal was simple: help owners feel more confident, provide guidance when they needed it most, and give families the support necessary to keep their dogs as valued members of the family.
Today, Kompass Kanine is based in El Paso, Texas, but the mission remains the same: supporting dog owners, strengthening the bond between dogs and their families, and helping keep dogs where they belong. While the business has grown, giving back continues to be a core part of who we are. That's why we still offer two free training packages each month to military families as a way of supporting the community that inspired Kompass Kanine from the very beginning.
Training Philosophy
Meet The Owner
Hi, I'm Mady, the owner and trainer behind Kompass Kanine.
I'm originally from Texas and started working in the dog industry in 2019. Like many people in this field, I started at the bottom, cleaning kennels, picking up after dogs, and learning every aspect of the job. Over time, I worked my way up, but it was dog training that really captured my interest.
After earning my dog training certification from Top Tier K9 in Madison,FL and spending a year training dogs in Austin,TX, my husband's job brought us to Germany. Moving overseas meant leaving behind the clients and community I had built, but it also gave me the opportunity to take a chance on myself and create something of my own. What started as helping a few local families quickly grew into something much bigger, ultimately becoming the mission for Kompass Kanine.

I don't believe dog training has to fit into a specific box. Every dog is different, every family is different, and training should reflect that.
I believe in rewarding behaviors I want to see more of, setting clear boundaries, and helping dogs understand how to succeed in the world we ask them to live in. Dogs learn through consistency, repetition, and clear communication, so my approach is guided by current behavioral science, practical experience, and what is best for the individual dog in front of me.

I also believe owners deserve to understand the training process. If I recommend a method or tool, I'm happy to explain why, answer questions, and discuss alternatives. I respect that every owner has their own comfort level and goals, and my role is to provide education and guidance so families can make informed decisions for their dogs.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to help dogs and their owners communicate better, live together more comfortably, and build a relationship based on trust and understanding.
